NY, NY For Immediate Release:
Lights, Camera - Read!
Kidumentary DVD & Contest

What does a guy with metal teeth have to do with reading a story, writing a story and then submitting a story to the Manhattan Kids Guide LightsCameraRead.com contest?

You can enter your original story either in person at the New York Public Library Inwood Branch at 4790 Broadway (near Dyckman) or online at www.LightsCameraRead.com/contest.

LightsCameraRead.com is the contest that spotlights your creativity empowering your reading to make your writing a star.

Your writing becomes a star if your short story is selected by the Northern NYC and Bronx panel of judges headed up by Danita Nichols of the New York Public Library Inwood Branch.

First prize is for your story to be dramatized by the Magic Neighbors puppets as a short film that will be included in the LightsCameraRead.com Kidumentary DVD.

Second prize is a Magic Neighbors Magic Kit.

Third prize is a copy of the LightsCameraRead.com DVD.

And speaking of the DVD and lights and cameras, meet four celebrity role models who are featured in the LightsCameraRead.com Kidumentary DVD –

Bern Nadette Stanis is best known as Thelma on TV's “Good Times”.

Charles Fleischer is best known for being the voice of "Roger Rabbit"

Elizabeth "E.G." Daily is best known as the voice of "The Powerpuff Girls", “The Rugrats” and "Babe: Pig in the City"

Richard Kiel is best known as the guy with the metal teeth in the James Bond movies.

Bern Nadette, Charles, E.G. and Richard along with Yianni, Alison and Lily Stamas and your host Bernie Bunny (the professional pop-out-of-the-hat rabbit) and the Magic Neighbors puppets take you through the journey of the 9 steps of reading a story, writing a story and submitting a story.

They do this while showing you InwoodManhattan.com and NorthernNYC.com community highlights from Manhattan Kids Guide free family events all year long.

These events include SummerReadingNYC.com, HarvestFestivalNYC.com, WinterFestivalNYC.com and the prestigious PlatinumPias.com Awards.

All Lights, Camera, Read prizes and Platinum Pias trophies will be presented at the 2nd Annual Platinum Pia Awards at Robert De Niro's Tribeca Screening Room in conjunction with the DVD release in January 2011.

Plus, kids can earn writing badges at www.SummerReading.org.

Oh, and regarding the guy with the metal teeth, rumor has it that he may find help in the LightsCamerarRead.com DVD from none other than Inwood's own book reading Magic Neighbors...Tooth Fairy!
